Mission Statement

The primary mission of Mount St. Joseph University Department of Public Safety is to maintain social order within prescribed state and constitutional laws while providing professional law enforcement services to the college community. To attain this, the Department enforces the law in a fair and impartial manner recognizing the statutory and judicial limitations of police authority and the constitutional rights of all persons.

The Department is committed to providing a safe learning environment through the utilization of campus-oriented community policing philosophies, and actively solicits and encourages cooperation and support of all members of the college community to decrease the opportunities for crime and facilitate the maximum use of its resources.
