Student-athletes in the Esports program compete in Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Valorant, Madden NFL, and Fortnite. The teams compete in leagues and in tournaments such as Collegiate Star League, AVGL, uLoL, ECAC esports leagues, and the Collegiate Rocket League Series. The Mount competes in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). NACE is a nonprofit membership association organized by and on behalf of its member institutions. NACE is the largest member association of varsity Esports programs at colleges and universities across the U.S. with 170+ member schools

Staff Spotlight

Chris Duvall has been the MSJ Esports Head Coach since August 2021. As a student at the University of Cincinnati, he focused his master’s thesis on esports at the collegiate/recreational level. He went on to start esports programming at UC, and started the national programs at Special Olympics - North America.

Player Spotlight

Jackson Ford, a junior who joined during his freshman year, is consistently in the top 3 percent of the Rocket League player base. He now serves as captain of the Rocket League team, leading the new generation of Rocket League at the Mount.

Facilities

The MSJ Esports facility features top-end PCs that were designed specifically for high-end gaming. The room comes
outfitted with keyboards, controllers, mice, Respawn Gaming Chairs, and ASUS 24-inch monitors. The student-athletes who are members of the Mount’s Esports team will have 24 hours a day, seven days a week access to the machines.

Esports Scholarsip

Freshmen who are enrolled full-time and participate in Esports practices, team workouts, and competitive events. Students participating in other NCAA Division III sports are not eligible for this scholarship. Contact Head Coach Chris Duvall for more information.
