Admission Criteria

All applicants must apply online using the Athletic Training Centralized Application Service (ATCAS). To learn more about the ATCAS application process, please visit the ATCAS website.

Requirements:


  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale from a regionally accredited institution prior to program start
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • 80 hours of observation verified by an AT  (Click here for verification form)
  • Completion of the following prerequisite with a grade of C or better and a cumulative GPA of 3.0

Natural Sciences & Mathematics (11 Hours)

  • Anatomy & Physiology with Lab (8)
  • General Biology with Lab (4)*
  • General Chemistry with lab (4)*
  • General Physics with lab (4)*
  • Statistics (3)

        *Recommended until 2020; required after July 1, 2020

 

Behavioral Sciences (3 hours)


  • Psychology (3)* or
  • Sociology/Cultural Anthropology (3)*

       *Recommended until 2020; required after July 1, 2020

 

Health and Exercise Sciences ( 6 hours of lecture courses and at least 1 with lab for a total of 7 credit hours)**

 

Example courses may include:


  • Exercise Physiology
  • Biomechanics/Kinesiology
  • Human Nutrition
  • Personal/Community Health
  • Health Promotion
  • Exercise Prescription

 

**Beginning July 1 ,2020 13 credits will be required from Health and Exercise Science courses
