Graduates are caring, ethical health care providers who support the dignity of others and promote holistic, evidence-based practice in a variety of settings. The Department of Nursing offers Graduate Nursing Programs for MSN - Master of Science in Nursing, DNP - Doctor of Nursing Practice, MSN-MAGELIN Master's Graduate Entry-Level into Nursing  and Graduate Certificates for Nursing Administration and Nursing Education. MSJ offers the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP), supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Students in our MSN-MAGELIN, MSN-Education, MSN-Administration, Post-Licensure Nursing Graduate Certificate, and DNP programs are eligible for this loan program, covering up to 100% of the program cost. Upon program completion, nurse educators serving four years at an accredited school of nursing in the U.S. are eligible for up to 85% loan forgiveness.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Health Systems Leadership provides the terminal academic preparation for patient-focused advanced nursing practice. The post-master’s DNP is designed to prepare nurses for leadership positions where they can create transformative change to improve the health and health care outcomes of individuals, families, groups, and populations. This program focuses on development of advanced competencies for complex practice along with evidence-based practice utilization to meet the demands that impact the quality of patient care delivery, patient outcomes, and systems management.

MSN-MAGELIN is an innovative degree option that enables students to enter the nursing profession at the graduate level. This prelicensure program is for those who hold a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing and who are interested in becoming a registered nurse in a short amount of time. The program is completed over four full-time consecutive semesters. Upon graduation, students will be prepared to take the national nursing licensure examination (NCLEX-RN). MSJ graduates deliver exceptional patient care at the bedside and move on to leadership positions in health care.

The Nursing Administration certificate enables nurses to gain the knowledge, skills, and competencies for effective health care administration leadership, whether starting as a new nursing administrator or enhancing one’s established leadership experience.
