Mount St. Joseph University students partnered with international educators to pilot AI teaching modules during an immersive global learning experience in Finland.
Students and faculty from the Department of Computer Science & Mathematics at Mount St. Joseph University recently traveled to Finland for an intensive international collaboration focused on artificial intelligence, education, and global innovation.
Working alongside partners from Laurea University, the cITe team spent the semester developing AI teaching modules before bringing their work overseas to pilot the projects with real educators in Finland. During the intensive week abroad, students tested their modules, gathered professional feedback, and experienced firsthand how technology can support learning in classrooms around the world.
The trip also gave students the opportunity to explore Helsinki, strengthen international partnerships, and engage in collaborative problem-solving with peers and faculty abroad. The experience marked a major milestone in the ongoing partnership between the institutions and highlighted the Mount’s commitment to experiential learning and global education.
As the collaboration continues, the project will move into its next phase when Laurea students travel to the United States next semester, allowing both institutions to continue expanding their work in AI and education through cross-cultural learning experiences.
