The “Pride of the Lions” award for February goes to Sarah McGowan, Provost Office Coordinator.
Dear Mount Community,
Since joining the Mount in May of 2022, Sarah has provided steady support to the Provost’s Office and a number of affiliated projects and initiatives. She supports several faculty committees, along with the Student Experience Committee of the Board of Trustees, and provides direct support to the Provost and Vice Provost.
Sarah also provides leadership for various University events, most notably by leading the logistical planning for the annual University Convocation each Fall Semester and by coordinating the student awards ceremony each Spring Semester. She also meets regularly with Academic Affairs administrative assistants and coordinators to promote communication and alignment throughout offices. She regularly looks for efficiency in processes and suggests improvements in the way the Provost Office operates. Colleagues note and appreciate Sarah’s quiet but consistent approach to her job, her effective collaboration across University offices, and her willingness to help however she can.
