Holy Family in Price Hill has been named the CISE Partner School for the Mount’s Parent Academy

The Parent Academy of CISE & Mount St. Joseph University made it their main mission to break the cycle of poverty by helping more low-income students access a college pathway. They do this by empowering parents with information and strategies to support their students academically and on their path to college and career. "CISE (Catholic Inner-city Schools Education) works to Rewrite Futures of urban children by providing access to a faith-based Catholic education at inner-city elementary schools and Catholic high schools. Strong values are taught in a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment."
The Parent Academy Program is an 8-week program designed to empower parents and caregivers with the tools and knowledge to support their child’s academic success. By fostering growth, encouraging hard work, and providing financial aid resources, families help students thrive. Advocacy and human connection ensure students receive the support they need, from school challenges to exploring college and career options.
Johanna Richardson, MSW, is the Program Director of The Parent Academy program at Mount St. Joseph University.
“My ‘why’ for this program is rooted in a deep passion for supporting families as they navigate the challenges and joys of their children’s educational journeys. I strive to empower parents with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to feel confident and engaged in their child's learning and development. I believe that when families are equipped to support their children, it creates a stronger, more connected community. I'm excited to be a part of this important work and to see the positive impact it has on families and students alike.” Johanna Richardson, MSW
