The 80th celebration of the Salesian Guild was an inspiring evening of prayer, fellowship, laughter, and storytelling.
On Feb. 1, 2025, the Mount’s Senior Director of Creative Services & Marketing Operations, Greg Goldschmidt Jr., MSOL, was honored with the 2025 Distinguished Communicator of the Year award by the Salesian Guild of Greater Cincinnati at the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati Motherhouse.
Celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, The Salesian Guild of Greater Cincinnati, a legacy since 1944 invited Catholic communicators of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky to gather annually to pray, socialize, and learn together while presenting an award to a deserving recipient. This award recognized a local, Catholic communicator who demonstrates commitment to both professional excellence and a strong faith in action within their workplace.
Goldschmidt serves as a member of the Division of Marketing & Communications team and leads as a creative force behind Mount St. Joseph University’s marketing efforts. He crafts compelling narratives that build brand awareness, bringing the Mount's mission and values to life through integrity, professionalism, and idealism.
“It is a tremendous honor to receive this award, and I am grateful to my friends and colleagues for nominating me,” said Goldschmidt. “While I have nearly worked at the Mount for ten years, each day feels new.”
Throughout Goldschmidt’s years of service with the University, colleagues have noted his collaborative leadership and his commitment to promoting the Mount's Catholic identity and mission.
"Greg's recognition as the 2025 Distinguished Communicator of the Year is richly deserved," said President H. James Williams, Ph.D. "His dedication to Mount St. Joseph University, particularly his commitment to showcasing our Catholic identity and mission, is truly exemplary. Greg embodies the very qualities this award celebrates – integrity, professionalism, fellowship, and idealism – and we at the Mount are incredibly proud of his achievement."
The Guild honored Goldschmidt amongst Mount Community members from the 2025 Salesian Guild Planning Committee, and the public followed by a presentation from Keynote Speaker Sister Karen Elliott, C.PP.S, a member of the Sisters of the Precious Blood community. His award was received with a special speech to his Mount Community and family, thanking those he works alongside.
“I have been blessed to work and grow over the past several years under the leadership of Vice President of Marketing & Communications Jeff Wampler, privileged to serve the community and our students alongside my awesome coworkers, and provide for my amazing wife and children,” Goldschmidt says. “Getting to show and tell Mount St. Joseph University’s story and see the impact of our alumni, faculty, staff, and students continues to be a joy.”
Greg earned his Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design & Photography from Mount St. Joseph University. In addition to his creative services & marketing operations role, he guest lectures & critiques classes, and serves as a mentor to MSJ students. Greg is also an owner of Toy Rocket Studios, LLC, where he co-created SnoCraft, a series of designer paper snowflake templates. Greg, his wife Angela (MSJ alumna), and their six children have lived in Greater Cincinnati for more than 15 years.
