CSWE and the Civil Rights Act: Almost 60 years later, Where Are We Now?
“In the years leading to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, many faculty and student group who identified as underrepresented minorities identified race-related concerns in Social Work Education. These stakeholder groups used their voice to organize and make demands to the CSWE. In this session, current data will be utilized to examine progress related to those demands, as it relates to underrepresented minority faculty. Attendees of the presentation will be given an opportunity to work in groups to brainstorm ways that collaborative efforts could be utilized to address ongoing concerns for underrepresented minority faculty within Social Work Education.” (Roxana Holland)
