Last week, the Mount enthusiastically launched this state-of-the-art platform to make career-related searches faster and easier than ever for MSJ students and recent graduates.

Designed specifically for college students, Handshake currently houses nearly 3,000 opportunities, including jobs, co-ops, internships, volunteer positions, and more.

“Handshake is a user-friendly platform for students and the app is very convenient because their job search is right at their fingertips,” says Amanda Meeker, Career & Experiential Education Center Director. “Handshake allows students to focus their job search on a platform that’s designed for college students, so they’re not filtering through jobs that require 10+ years of experience.  Students can actively search for job postings, but they can also choose to share their profile and resume to allow employers to search for them!”

How Handshake Works

Recruiters post positions easily across multiple colleges and universities on a weekly basis, making it easier for local employers to connect with students and recent graduates. Students have the option to download the Handshake app, which allows quick and easy access to search for opportunities, explore career-related events, register for career fairs, expand their professional networks, and more.

Activating Your Handshake Account

Students, alumni, and employers can create or activate their Handshake accounts here to begin utilizing its many features.  For questions about the platform, please contact career.center@msj.edu.
