Mount St. Joseph University
Celebrating a Century
As we approach our Centennial Year in 2020, we are proud to share that our enrollment has reached 2,168 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, with the goal of a student population of 2,500 by 2025.
The College of Mount St. Joseph initially opened its doors to the first 20 students in 1920 as the first Catholic college for women in Southwestern Ohio. Following steady growth, the Sisters of Charity opened a new campus in the fall of 1962. In 1986, the Mount was formally declared co-educational followed by an historic name change to Mount St. Joseph University in 2014, to signify the already-proven graduate programs.
The Mount's future holds much promise as the legacy of a quality, mission-driven education and service to others continues.
