Congrats to our MSJ Track & Field Coaching Staff!
Dear Mount Community,
The Pride of the Lions for March is being awarded to MSJ’s Track & Field Coaching Staff, led by Head Coach Adam Cokonougher and Assistant Coach Jeff Hill. Also on staff are assistant coaches Justin Bland, Sean Cockrell, Matt Van Doren, Gunner Froelicher, Andrew Pacifico, and Tanner Smith.
Cokonougher assumed the leadership role for the Mount Track & Field teams in August of 2024, with a focus on recruiting, while Coach Hill began leading the performance side of the Program. The unorthodox union has produced the most successful indoor campaign in the history for the MSJ Track & Field team in 2026, as the men’s and women’s teams both finished in 4th place during the indoor championships, hosted at The Mount.
During the past year, the coaching staff also ran eight (8) high school indoor Track & Field meets, bringing students from over 75 different high schools to campus and into the Centennial Field House. Still – the staff is not done yet! The Group has succeeded in securing deposits from twenty (20) incoming freshmen, who will compete in Track & Field next year; moreover, the Group is working on recruiting an additional ten (10) newcomers!
