Watch a heartfelt Christmas message from President H. James Williams and First Lady Carole C. Williams bestowed upon the Mount Community.
Mount Family,
As we bring this semester to a close, I invite each of us to take a moment to reflect on the many blessings we share as members of the Mount Family. This is a season of gratitude and celebration, and I am deeply thankful for the vibrant community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni who make the Mount such an extraordinary place.
This spirit of community was beautifully showcased on December 5th during our MSJ Renaissance Christmas concert and Art Guild Display. What a spectacular evening it was! The event not only highlighted the remarkable talents of our students, faculty, and staff, but also celebrated the relationships and shared purpose that unite us. I am truly proud of the gifts our community shares with one another and with the world.
Looking ahead, we have so much to anticipate in the coming semester. One highlight is a new tradition our First Lady, Carole Campbell Williams, and I are excited to begin. On January 13th, we will host a special toast to honor our undergraduate students who will graduate in May. This celebration marks the start of The Pinnacle Series, a collection of programs designed to help students further prepare for life after the Mount – a fitting tribute to their journey and achievements.
In late January 2025, we will unveil the finalized Strategic Plan that will guide the Mount through the year 2030. This ambitious and thoughtful plan reflects the collective vision of our community, with almost 1000 individuals providing input; indeed, I am eager for us to take the next steps together. As we prepare to implement the plan, beginning on July 1, 2025, we will spend the next semester positioning ourselves for success, ensuring that our legacy of excellence continues for years to come.
As we enter this season of peace and joy, let us pause to embrace the spirit of Christmas and its message of hope. Let us remember the blessings we have received and the bright future that lies ahead for our Mount Family.
Heavenly Father,
As we gather in celebration of this holy season, we thank You for the many blessings You have bestowed upon our Mount community. May Your light guide us in our work, Your peace dwell in our hearts, and Your love inspire us to serve others with kindness and grace. Bless our students, faculty, staff, and all who call the Mount home. May this Christmas season bring joy, hope, and renewal to all. In Your holy name, we pray.
Amen.
Merry Christmas and best wishes for a blessed New Year! And, of course…GO LIONS!!!
Sincerely,
Dr. H. James Williams and Carole Campbell Williams
