Mount St. Joseph University (Mount) proudly announces that Director of Athletics, Melanee Wagener, has been honored with the prestigious "She Leads" Award by the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.

CINCINNATI – This accolade recognizes women who inspire others through leadership, service, and commitment to their communities. Wagener’s dedication to empowering student-athletes and promoting inclusivity in sports exemplifies the values of this award.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award from the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio,” said Wagener. “Empowering young women and promoting leadership in all forms is a mission close to my heart, and I am grateful to be recognized by an organization that shares these same values.”

Wagener has served as the Director of Athletics at Mount St. Joseph University since 2020. Under her leadership, the Mount’s athletics program has flourished, promoting excellence both on and off the field. A lifelong advocate for gender equity in sports, Wagener has championed initiatives that prioritize student development, leadership, and well-being, ensuring that athletics serves as a platform for personal and professional growth.
