This month's Pride of the Lions is Dr. Christy Heinrich and the MSJ 5K Team!
I am delighted to announce that the Pride of the Lions award for September goes to Christy Heinrich, Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy and the "MSJ 5K Team!"
Christy has provided inspiring leadership and vision in reviving the MSJ 5K Run, which was held last year for the first time since 2018. This year's event was held on Sept. 14, and Christy and the committee--including Mara Kandra, Michelle Arnold, Thomas Palmer (TP), Kevin Koo, and Steve Ober--were able to serve more than 200 registered participants, including alumni, current faculty and staff members, students, and members of the Delhi and surrounding communities.
It was a beautiful day for the participants to run or walk through campus and its surroundings. The participants were supported along the way by more than two dozen volunteers from the School of Health Sciences and the Mission Ambassadors program; moreover, the crowd was entertained by Emcee and DJ Aiden Riffle. The event required careful coordination, and proved to be a terrific celebration of the Mount and its commitment to wellness and building relationships with the community.
We appreciate Christy's leadership and the MSJ 5K Team's positive contribution to the University community. Please join me in congratulating the entire Team for organizing and executing an exceptional event!
Go Lions!
Sincerely,
H. James Williams, Ph.D.
President
