The Public Relations (COM 321:01) class of Spring 2024 undertook a class project and wrote lyrics to be composed into a Fight Song for the Mount’s Lions. The project, designed by Fr. John, the class teacher asked the class to write lyrics for our proud Lion’s athletic sports teams to make them proud when they march to the field and while they play to give the teams the spirit to fight and win.

The chair of the Music Department, Dr. Mark McCafferty was then invited to the class to help to find an appropriate melody for the lyrics. With his help, the lyrics were pruned and the class led by their professor, Fr. John came up with a sound that Dr. McCafferty thought could be refined and used. Presently, the lyrics are being put into musical notes.

The Communication and New Media Studies is proud to announce to the university and the world that now, the Lions can roar louder once the tune is outdoored. The composition is copyrighted to the Department of Communication and New Media Studies and the names of the PR class of Spring 2024 who undertook the project will ever be remembered. They are:

Rev. John Amankwah, Ph.D. (Associate Professor and teacher), Megan McNulty (Class Assistant), Katelyn Rieder, Jalen T. Range, Jordan Wideman, Andrew C. Pierce, Luke J. Legault, Christopher M. Knox, Camden Fuller
