At the Mount, we value veteran and military-affiliated students' contributions to the campus community, as well as the classroom experience.
Our team works to ensure that our military-connected students feel included and understood as they connect to the resources available to Climb Higher and succeed.
For another academic year, Mount St. Joseph University has earned silver status for the 2024-2025 Military Friendly Award designation. This designation is a result of the Mount’s hard work and dedication to the military community.
According to their website, the Military Friendly Schools survey is the longest-running most comprehensive review of college and university investments in serving military and veteran students. “The Military Friendly Company survey investigates and identifies the organizations whose commitment to serving the military and veteran community is comprehensive in scope, and meaningful in terms of actual outcomes and impact," it says.
“We are honored to be recognized again this year as a Military Friendly School,” says Assistant Director for Adult & Transfer Recruitment, Amy Wolf. “The Mount is consistently looking at this student population to ensure we are meeting their needs. We do this through our faculty and staff committee, which meets regularly in order address what we are doing well, and where we have needs and opportunities on our campus to improve,” she says.
Currently, the Mount is eager to hear feedback from military-connected students themselves to improve future programming.
“One thing we are working on developing right now is a student survey in order to engage with our military connected students in order find out what activities and student programming they would like to see on our campus,” says Wolf. “We want them to know the Mount cares and respects the commitment they endure serving our country, and that we are committed to their success.”
