Biography:

Jessica Schueller, Ph.D., is the Associate Director of the Career and Experiential Education Center at Mount St. Joseph University. In this role, she provides career advising for graduate students, supports alumni navigating professional transitions, collaborates with faculty on career readiness initiatives, and oversees the university’s annual career outcomes survey.

Before joining the Mount, Jessica worked for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Germany, where she managed large-scale research projects, contributed to national-level strategy development, and built partnerships with key stakeholders. Her work focused on career services for international students in Germany—a area in which she has established strong recognition across Europe. Previously, she launched two international career-focused companies, taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and held a variety of roles in higher education. Her passion for career services began as an undergraduate during a work-study role in her university’s career services office. She went on to complete internships with the Minnesota Workforce Center and the German Federal Employment Agency, experiential learning experiences that shaped and confirmed her own career path. Jessica’s approach to career development combines global expertise, academic insight, and a focus on the whole person.

Jessica holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Miami University, where her research explored global career services. She also earned an MBA from the University of Oldenburg in Germany and a Joint M.Sc./M.A. in Research and Innovation in Higher Education from Tampere University and Danube University Krems. She is a Certified Master of Career Services (CMCS) through the National Career Development Association. Her scholarly contributions on career development topics include publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Career Development International and presentations at conferences across the globe.

Jessica speaks fluent German and is a certified Yin Yoga instructor.
