M.Ed., Miami University; B.S.Ed., University of Cincinnati

Lucie Collier is a career educator.  After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1980, she took a position as an Elementary Teacher in Cincinnati Public Schools. During her many years with CPS, Lucie served multiple roles as a Lead Teacher, Consulting Teacher, Arts Integration Consultant, School Improvement Coach, and administrator as the K-3 ELA Curriculum Manager from 2016 – 2019. A few years after earning an M.Ed from Miami University in Curriculum and Instruction, Lucie was afforded the opportunity to become a trainer for Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading (LETRS) in 2006 through Mayerson Academy. Once certified, Lucie provided Professional Development through LETRS and the Science of Reading to educational professionals while working in local schools to successfully apply this emerging research to reading instruction in K-8 classrooms.  One of Lucie’s final career goals was to teach at Mount St. Joseph University in the School of Education. This goal was realized when she came to MSJ in January of 2020.  Lucie is thrilled to be part of the fabulous SOE staff as an Early Childhood Education Faculty Instructor with the Dual Licensure program. Go Lions!
