Biography:

Professor Heheman is an assistant professor in the Department of Nursing. She received her M.S.N. in Nursing Healthcare Service and Administration and B.S.N. from the University of Cincinnati. She has been a registered nurse for eleven years and has practiced in critical care and cardiology throughout her career.

Professor Heheman is a faculty member of the American Heart Association at Mercy Western Hills Hospital for both the Advanced Cardiac and Basic Life Support programs. She continues to work part-time at Mercy Western Hills on the telemetry unit, where she rotates in the role of charge nurse and code responder. Ms. Heheman also instructs Advanced Cardiac and Basic Life Support programs for Mercy Western Hills and Education Associations (who serve firehouses and outpatient settings).

Outside of the classroom, Professor Heheman enjoys spending time with her daughter -- hiking, exploring nature and working on an ever-expanding rock garden with the rocks collected on their trips. She also enjoys watching her daughter play basketball and gymnastics, and she loves to scuba dive, volunteer at her daughter's school, and read.
