Given to Alumni who have devoted their lives to service to others; who through their commitment to service affirm the value of human existence; who enhance the community by serving its educational, cultural, social, and religious institutions. Sister Mary Lea ministered at the College as a Sociology teacher from 1940-1960; Alumni Office 1960-1977; after she “retired” she volunteered in the Alumni Office from 1977 to 1999.

The Sister Loretta Richards, SC Award:
This award is named for Loretta Richards, SC, who was the first president of the Alumni Association in the 1920s. The distinguished alumni award is the highest honor bestowed upon a graduate of the Mount, recognizing career and vocational achievements and service to the University.
