On Saturday, Nov. 22, President H. James Williams, Ph.D. was recognized at the 2025 "Men of Honor: A Salute to African American Men" event.
In its 15th anniversary, this prestigious honor highlights Dr. Williams's impactful leadership, dedication to education, and commitment to uplifting the community.
Over 750 family members, community members, colleagues, and friends gathered together for event. This upscale, strictly black tie event celebrated the accomplishments of extraordinary African American men who have succeeded against all odds and achieved special greatness.
Mr. Steve Mullinger, Ohio Market President of Truist Bank and Board Chair Emeritus at Mount St. Joseph University, presented the award to Dr. Williams. Kayden Kelly, an award-winning classical pianist from Sante Fe, New Mexico, performed an artistic tribute for Dr. Williams.

This year’s five distinguished honorees included:
- Clifford Bailey, President & CEO, TechSoft Systems
- Rance Duke, Retired Vice President, Fort Washington Investment Advisors
- Evans Nwankwo, President & CEO, Megen Construction
- Dr. H. James Williams, President, Mount St. Joseph University
- Barron Witherspoon, Retired Senior Vice President, Procter & Gamble
Each honoree was given a $5,000 grant to designate to an organization that serves Black males. Dr. Williams selected Hope Ignites, formerly known as Boys Hope Girls Hope, as his grant recipient, and they were in attendance to hear Dr. Williams’ inspirational story. The other grant recipient organizations included Dan Beard Council Lincoln Heights Troop 772, the School for Creative & Performing Arts M.O.R.E. Program, Fathers’ UpLift, and Forever Kings.

The evening included a cocktail reception, dinner, the honors ceremony, and an after party. A special moment was the recognition of five Men of Honor Scholars, who will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.
