File Under: orientation, welcome weekend

Students at Freshman Orientation.

The College of Mount St. Joseph is excited to welcome its new freshman class to campus! There's a lot going on and a lot of information to take in, so here is everything you need to know, all in one place!

Move-in for new resident students who will be participating in the August orientation will be tomorrow evening, Aug. 21. Move-in times are based on room assignments and are as follows:

  • 2nd floor: 6:30-7 pm
  • 3rd floor: 7-7:30 pm
  • 4th floor: 7:30-8 pm
  • 5th & 6th floors: 8-8:30 pm

All other new resident students will move in Aug. 22, and move-in times are the same as listed above.

When moving in, please park in the Seton South parking lot while unloading. Once unloaded, please move your car to the upper east parking lot or the parking deck in order to free up spaces for others to unload. A limited number of carts are available for use.

August orientation will begin Thursday with check-in at 8:30 am in the Seton Lobby. It continues through noon on Friday, and will be immediately followed by Welcome Weekend.

Welcome Weekend is required for all new traditional students. Check-in is at 1 pm on Friday in the Seton Lobby.

There is a lot of excitement planned for Welcome Weekend! There will be a party sponsored by CAB on Friday night, and Welcome Weekend service projects are scheduled for Saturday morning. After a contintental breakfast, new students will complete service projects at several places throughout the community, including Bayley Place, EarthConnection, Mother Margaret Hall, Western Wildlife Corridor and the Women's Connection.

There will be a boat ride on the Ohio River on Saturday night, and the Black Student Union will sponsor a luau on Sunday evening. The luau will be followed by a movie on a giant inflatable screen on the Quad.

Students are advised to bring their Mount ID to all Welcome Weekend events.

Please contact Patty Mills at or 513-244-1646 with any questions or for more information.

We're looking forward to meeting all of the new students!
