Biography:
Education has always been an important part of Heather’s life. Heather, a native Kentuckian and granddaughter of a school teacher, graduated cum laude from Western Kentucky University with her bachelor’s degree. She went on to attend NKU Chase College of Law as a Kentucky Legal Education Opportunity (KLEO) scholar.
Heather accepted a position with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy after graduation, where she served as a public defender for six years. She represented indigent clients charged with anything from misdemeanor theft to capital murder. During this time, Heather served as a mentor for several law students. She also mentored undergraduate students through her work as an adjunct professor at a local university. Heather ultimately returned to her law school alma mater for an opportunity to work with students on a full-time basis.
In 2017, Heather received the “On the Rise − Top 40 Young Lawyers Award” from the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association based on her accomplishments in law and education. Heather joined the Mount as the Associate Provost for Academic Support in 2019 and is excited to be a part of the community.
