Kristen Coughlin graduated from North Park University—located in Chicago, IL—in 2017 where she earned her B.A. in Secondary Education and Creative Writing. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Kristen realized that teaching at the high school level was not the perfect fit for her, and instead shifted her focus to working in higher education. As a member of the Mount St. Joseph University Admission team, Kristen is excited to have the opportunity to assist prospective students in the beginning of their journey at the Mount. In her free time, Kristen enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

The Mount attracted Kristen because of its dedication to empowering students to become individuals who make a meaningful impact on the world around them. “I strongly believe that education is so much more than books and lectures, and should be viewed as a way to develop strong contributors to society. I deeply value the way that the Mount brings that truth to life through service learning, cooperative education, and career development.” Kristen was also drawn to the warm sense of community here at Mount St. Joseph University. “From my first time on campus, I knew that this was a place where people are known and genuinely cared for and I am so excited to be a part of welcoming students into the fold as well.”
