Biography:

Dr. Lawson is a Professor of the Department of Psychology. He holds a Ph.D in social psychology from Miami University, and his research interests include social perception, social influence, statistical reasoning, and effective techniques for teaching psychology.  He is an award-winning teacher and scholar; he has won two MSJ Clifford Awards for Excellence in Teaching, two Ohio Magazine Excellence in Education awards, a MSJ Distinguished Scholar Award, a MSJ Cooperative Education Coordinator of the Year award, and an Outstanding Alumni Award from Adrian College.  Dr. Lawson is the author of two books, Statistical Reasoning in Everyday Life and Scientific Perspectives on Pseudoscience and the Paranormal.  He has published dozens of research studies in professional journals and has been an invited speaker at many conferences on a range of topics, including social perception, statistical reasoning, and the teaching of psychology.
