Biography:
Dr. Aleksander Liszka currently holds the adjunct violin and viola position at Mount St. Joseph University.
Dr. Liszka is native of Poland. He is a numerous competition winner, including the American Protégé International Competition at Carnegie Hall in New York City, Starling award recipient from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, Grand Prix at the International Chamber Music Competition in Wroclaw, Poland, and J. S. Bach competition in Poland among others. In addition, Dr. Liszka was awarded the Graduate Assistantship for violin, both at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and at the Aspen Music Festival.
Dr. Liszka is an active solo and chamber musician in the United States and abroad. Recently, he has performed solo with the Clermont Philharmonic and a debut at the Weil Recital Hall at the Carnegie Hall. He is also a founding member of the multinational AMMIGUS String Quartet. He has an extensive repertoire as a chamber musician, ranging in quartets and trios. Dr. Liszka has reached many diverse communities through his performances, including the Polish, Korean, Armenian, Mexican and many others.
Throughout his education, Dr. Liszka was fortunate to study with great pedagogues such as Dorothy Delay, Cho Liang Lin, Dr. Piotr Milewski, Dr. Won-bin Yim, Timothy Lees, Juilliard String Quartet and American String Quartet and many others. He is presently a founding member of the AMMIGUS String Quartet.
