Kate is an experienced leader in the interpersonal, intrapersonal, and cognitive development of multi-age, university-level students. She finds inspiration in supporting people as they discover their own career paths. In both individual and group meetings, she blends big-picture goal-setting with necessary requirements for the offered programs in order to set students up for success. Emphasizing professionalism, life-long learning, educated decision-making, and goal-setting in her everyday work, she uses her listening and communication skills to create an atmosphere where all feel safe in sharing their thoughts. With that precedent, she can identify strengths in others and help them utilize those strengths in their own professional journeys.
Kate joined Mount St. Joseph University in 2017, after beginning her career in higher education as an academic advisor at Purdue University. As a Cincinnati native, she was excited to return to her hometown. In her free time she enjoys concerts at Washington Park, going to Reds games, reading, and playing with her miniature dachshund.
“As a higher education professional, I am passionate about supporting students in the pursuit of their personal and professional goals. Initially I was drawn to the Mount because of the University’s reputation for academic excellence, and during my time here I have found further inspiration from the school-wide emphasis on integrating life and learning in service to the community. I enjoy introducing students to this environment and hope that you can find a home here, too!”
