Office of Mission Integration at Mount St. Joseph University

The Mission Integration office works hand-in-hand with members of campus ministry and the mission committee to develop new University mission initiatives, and serves as a resource for mission awareness within departments.

Our University Mission

Mount St. Joseph University is a Catholic academic community grounded in the spiritual values and vision of its founders, the Sisters of Charity. The University educates its students through interdisciplinary liberal arts, and professional curricula emphasizing values, integrity, and social responsibility.

Members of the MSJ community embrace:

  • Excellence in academic endeavors
  • The integration of life and learning
  • Respect and concern for all persons
  • Diversity of cultures and beliefs
  • Service to others.

Campus Ministry

Campus ministry is an integral part of mission and ministry through its role in ministering to students.

We infuse all aspects of faith into the Mount’s culture through planned events, on-campus support, Mass and faith-sharing programs. Campus ministry celebrates spiritual exploration for all denominations and beliefs through retreats, worship, leadership, justice and service.

Founded by the Sisters of Charity, our mission includes:

  • Encouraging the deepening of faith through liturgy, retreats, faith sharing and prayer.
  • Creating opportunities for leadership development by empowering community members to use their gifts.
  • Fostering a commitment to service, peace and justice through education, action and reflection.
  • Collaborating with the larger University community to help develop the whole person.
