The first of three orientation sessions officially began today for the first group of the Mount’s class of 2021. Nearly 100 incoming freshmen and their families from more than seven states were welcomed to campus by a talented team of orientation leaders and a surprise visit from the MSJ Lions cheerleaders.

Throughout the busy two-day event, students and their families will enjoy breakfast with President Williams and the First Lady, get acquainted with faculty and staff, and socialize at a late-night open gym and movie session.

The campus showcase component of orientation offers the new students one-stop shopping for all of the Mount’s student organizations and campus departments. The future freshmen also select from several You-Choose Sessions, where they can explore such topics as student-athletics, residence life, and the career center.

Many agree that the most compelling part of orientation at the Mount is the Commissioning Ceremony. Gathered in the beautiful Mater Dei Chapel, as new members of the Mount community, the students are invited to sign their name in the Mount St. Joseph University Book of Names; a memorable start to what is certain to be an amazing journey.

Another group of freshmen will arrive in July for orientation, followed by a third group in August. The entire orientation schedule provides additional details.
