TEAM MSE cohort beginning in January at Mason location

The TEAM MSE program (Teacher Education Accelerated Masters - Multicultural Special Education) at the College of Mount St. Joseph will be starting a new spring 2013 cohort, with classes being held in Mason, OH. The program prepares individuals to enter the special education teaching profession and work with children of diverse backgrounds in grades K-12.  The blended learning format allows working adults to continue employment while completing the special education license and Master’s degree.

Individuals in TEAM-MSE earn a Master of Arts – Major in Teaching and one of two licensure options.  The first licensure option is designed for teachers who wish to add a special education license to their current teaching field in three (3) semesters.  The second licensure option is designed for individuals who have never taught and would like to secure an Alternative Resident Educator’s License (AREL) in special education.  The AREL in special education course work is embedded within the master’s degree program and can be completed in five (5) semesters.

The spring cohort of classes for TEAM MSE will begin on January 5, 2013. For the first time in the history of the successful TEAM MSE program, classes will be offered on the northeast side of the greater Cincinnati area, at the Sinclair Community College Courseview campus, located along the I-71 corridor.  Residents of Warren and Clermont counties will have convenient access to the College of Mount St. Joseph graduate program without the commute to the west side of Cincinnati.
