Smith receives Excellence in Teaching Award from the College of Mount St. Joseph

The College of Mount St. Joseph presented the 2013 Adjunct Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award to Suzanne C. Smith, a member of the nursing faculty. The annual award honors an outstanding colleague who demonstrates exceptional teaching as an adjunct faculty member. Candidates are nominated by the department chairs.

Smith has taught at the Mount since 2001. Her primary focus is pediatrics, but she has also taught clinicals in other areas. She has also taught the basic skills lab and pharmacology skills lab at the Mount. She has been employed at Shriner’s Hospital for 22 years. Her accomplishments include being a recipient of the Florence Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing in 2008, and a recipient of the Marilyn Jenkins Memorial Nursing Excellence Award in 2003.

Outside of work, Smith likes to garden, has participated in the community garden at the Mount. She lives with her husband, Jeff, in Delhi.
