The College of Mount St. Joseph, which will become Mount St. Joseph University on July 1, 2014, will have several new offerings this fall, including a Saturday MBA program, a new health and wellness major and eight options for a three-year major.
The Saturday MBA program is designed to allow students with busy schedules to earn a master’s degree in business administration. The program begins this fall and will allow students to earn a degree in approximately two years by taking one course at a time on Saturday mornings. Faculty who are experts in their fields in accounting, corporate finance, statistics, economics and marketing will teach the classes. For more information, email MBA@mail.msj.edu.
The Mount will also offer a degree completion program on Saturday mornings to allow students to earn a bachelor of science in organizational leadership. This is a program that is designed for non-traditional students who have previously completed a substantial portion of the requirements for an undergraduate degree to complete the credit requirements needed to earn a bachelor’s degree. For more information, email Cynthia Lamb at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Mount’s new health and wellness major will prepare students for careers that promote lifelong wellness, optimal health and quality of life for all individuals. The mission of the major is to graduate highly skilled and well-equipped students for entry into professional practice or graduate study in health and wellness professional schools, incorporating service learning and experiential practicum. For more information, email program chair BC Charles-Liscombe at BC_Charles-Liscombe@mail.msj.edu.
Also new at the Mount are eight degree programs that can be completed in three years, instead of four. Full course loads each semester (including summer semester) will allow students to save a year’s worth of tuition. The programs eligible to be completed in three years are accounting, biochemistry, biology, business administration, chemistry, history, sociology and psychology.
