Junior social work majors, Rachel Blevins and Maria Sallee-Thomas represented the College of Mount St. Joseph in the recent NASW Advocacy Day at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio.

With over 300 social workers and social work students in attendance to learn about advocacy and meet with legislators, attendees raised awareness about professional issues including social work salaries, educational debt, and high caseloads.

Blevins and Salle-Thomas advocated and met with representatives in the Statehouse about educational debt relief and title protection for social workers.
