Washington Monthly released its annual rankings of colleges and universities around the country on August 27, 2013.
The publication rates schools based on their contribution to the public good in three categories: social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs) and service (encouraging students to give something back to their country. Out of 1,572 colleges and universities in broader rankings, only 349 made the cut as "Best Bang for the Buck" schools.
The publication ranked the College of Mount St. Joseph at #59 in the category of "best bang for the buck" among master's universities.
