Joan Loeser Scarberry ’51 of Newport News, Va. warmly welcomed her seventh great grandchild this month. She also went through double knee replacements in November, and is recovered and playing golf again. Life is good.
Elizabeth Bookser Barkley, Ph.D. ’70 of Cincinnati has published her third book, “Life After Death: Practical Help for the Widowed”. It is for those who have passed through that initial period of grief, and have begun to settle into a new life of living as a widow or widowed.
Mary Ellen Grzybinski Laprade '78 and husband Roland recently sold their home in Massachusetts and relocated to Florida. They purchased a home in Sun City, just south of Tampa at which there are numerous golf courses to keep them busy. Roland has retired, but Mary Ellen is still working as a nurse practitioner for a GI practice in Bradenton. Their son Eric is relocating to Michigan, where he will attend the University of Michigan’s graduate program in wind conducting.
Cara Gregory Koppenhoefer ’85 of Harrison, Oh. received a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University in April 2013.
Michael P Rolfes ’92 received the Civilian Lifesaving Award from the Cincinnati Fire Department for his actions in saving the life of a Cincinnati Bell employee who had been electrocuted while installing telephone poles. Michael is the CEO & Chief Investigator/Security Officer of Official Investigations & Security Services Inc. located in Cincinnati.
Heather Ellis Harlow ’97 of Cincinnati would like to announce to birth of their second son, James Nicholas, born on December 7, 2012. He joins his big brother, John, age 7. Heather is in her third term as Colerain Township Fiscal Officer.
Douglas A. Sanker '01 of Cincinnati has been named the new principal at Winton Woods Middle School effective July 1, 2013. Sanker is currently assistant principal at the school and has been there since 2005.
