Adjunct Instructor of Horn
B.M. St. Olaf College, M.M. University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music (CCM)
A proud Oregonian, Jenna left her beloved Pacific Northwest and headed east to begin her musical studies at St. Olaf College, in Minnesota, under the instruction of Herbert Winslow, Associate Principal of the Minnesota Orchestra. While there, she participated in international band and orchestra tours to Mexico and Norway, performed as a soloist with the Roseville String Ensemble and St. Olaf Orchestra, and also played with the Minnesota Orchestra. In 2007, she completed her Bachelor of Music degree, graduating magna cum laude with departmental distinction in Horn Performance. McBride’s continued eastward migration carried her to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she commenced her Masters studies with Randy Gardner and Duane Dugger at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. During her tenure at CCM, she participated in the Opera Music and Theatre Festival of Lucca, Italy, and the International Orchestra Camp of Luechow, Germany, and was a featured soloist with the CCM Chamber Winds, graduating with her degree in 2009.
Post graduation, McBride has enjoyed a varied freelancing and teaching career. Currently the Second Horn in both the Kentucky and Canton Symphony Orchestras, she also performs with a number of Orchestras in the tri-state area, most memorably with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Jenna enjoys performing chamber music with The Ohio River Brass Quintet, and her horn and harp ensemble, J plays H duo featuring Harpist James Predovich, and is looking forward to spending her third summer as the Horn instructor at the International Orchestra Camp of Luechow, Germany.
