Dr. Gialopsos is an assistant professor in the Department of Criminology. She earned a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati, with focuses in Crime Prevention and Criminological Theory. Professor Gialopsos also received a master’s degree in criminal justice from Texas State University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas A&M University.
Dr. Gialopsos's current research involves fear of crime and risk perceptions, school-based victimization and repeat victimization. She is also interested in environmental criminology, situational crime prevention, academic dishonesty, and white-collar crime.
In addition to her academic interests, Dr. Gialopsos enjoys running, practicing yoga, reading, and watching sports.
