Biography:

Monica Hickey is an active performer and teacher in the greater Cincinnati area. She holds the position of Adjunct Instructor of Violin at Mount St. Joseph University as well as Violin Instructor at Indian Hill Performing Arts Academy. Ms. Hickey completed her Master of Music degree in Violin Performance at the University of South Carolina studying under Dr. Donald Portnoy.  Previously, she earned her Bachelor of Music at Miami University.  She has toured throughout Italy and Spain as a member of a variety of chamber ensembles and has performed with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra Augusta and Long Bay Symphony.  Ms. Hickey is currently a member of the Clermont Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lebanon Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in Masterclasses with such artists as Chin Kim, Won Bin-Yim, Jorja Fleezanis, and the Parker Quartet.
