Position Title: Program Manager – Grant Funded

The College of Mount St. Joseph is accepting applications for the grant funded, full-time, professional staff, position of Program Manager – Grant Funded. The successful candidate will facilitate the Ohio Means Internships & Co-ops (OMIC) Cincinnati Internships & Co-op Plan from April 2014 – June 2016; work collaboratively with regional colleges/universities and existing CEEC team to increase experiential opportunities for current students; offer professional development advice to students by way of one-on-one career coaching, presentations, workshops, career programs, and classroom presentations; develop and grow relationships with employers; continuously supports the Vision 2020 efforts, as career readiness is a key strategy for the institution; and collaborate with the staff and Director with overall planning, problem solving, and programming.
- Serve as College liaison to the Cincinnati Internships & Co-op Plan.
- Report, track, and document all aspects of the OMIC grant process.
- Coordinate the CEEC marketing campaign.
- Responsible for cooperative education placements for a variety of majors.
- Assist in preparing potential co-op students for events, stand-alone interviews, and for on-the-job success.
- Encourage new and existing employers to offer co-op opportunities.
- Assist with the planning, recruitment, and execution of the annual career fair.
- Collaborate with faculty to provide effective programming and support to students as needed.
- Refer resumes, arrange interviews and confirm placements using career management software.
- Review reports, evaluate student progress, follow-up, replace and assist in revision of co-op student responsibilities when necessary.
- Design and present educational workshops and in-class seminars to meet the career services needs of students.
- Participate in and support the students’ career development through other departmental activities.
- Be available for special events and programs held occasionally on weekends or in the evenings as necessary.
- Create and facilitate career services handouts and publications for stakeholders as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Primary Contacts: Director, CEEC staff, regional colleagues, students, faculty, staff, employers, and other members of the College community.
Supervision Exercised: May direct routine tasks and activities of the Administrative Assistant, student workers, and co-op students.
Supervision Received: Works toward a previously defined objective with little supervision and uses a wide range of procedures; plans and arranges own work referring unusual cases to the Director.
Education: Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree. Master’s degree preferred in Higher Education, Counseling, Human Resources, Marketing or related disciplines.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience.
Specialized Training: CARS, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Web registration, Career management software, and Internet.
Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational and event planning skills; demonstrate superb interpersonal skills and professionalism; entrepreneurial spirit needed to plan new events and create employer relationships; ability to effectively market all new initiative to employers with high expectations for customer service; strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and concisely; listen well to others; able to work in times of ambiguity and to perform tasks as appropriate without direct supervision; adapt willingly and quickly to changing priorities, responsibilities, and student-faculty-staff customer needs and expectations; anticipate and identify student-faculty-staff customer needs; Ensure accuracy of information that is provided to others; Accomplish tasks with follow through to completion. Organize workload so as to meet deadlines related to planning and implementing events; must possess aptitude for technological development and its implications for appropriate automation of office; proficient in Microsoft Office; Experience in developing and reviewing resumes, cover letters, and other job search correspondence is a plus.
