The Department of Criminology at the College of Mount St. Joseph invites applications for a Department Chair to begin in August of 2014. This is a fast-track, tenure-track position, which requires a candidate have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience at an accredited institution of higher education.
Qualifications: We seek applicants with an earned Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology, and a minimum of 3-4 years of experience at the College or University level. The successful candidate should have academic and/or employment experience in/with the Federal Criminal Justice System, ability to teach Comparative Criminology/Criminal Justice, Research Methods, and have qualitative research experience. The applicant is expected to have demonstrated ability to conduct and publish research, as well as contribute to a teaching-focused environment committed to collegiality, diversity, and undergraduate studies. Online or blended learning experience preferred.
Duties: The successful candidate will serve as Chair, teach a 3/3 load, advise students, and meet tenure-track requirements.
