Orientation and Welcome Weekend sessions give you an early taste of campus life.

These sessions will help get you familiar with campus, other students, faculty and staff before classes start.

Orientation and Welcome Weekend will ease the transition to college life. During the sessions, you’ll learn more about all Mount St. Joseph University offers. You’ll also get the opportunity to meet other new students and upperclassmen.

All first-time in college first-years must attend an Orientation Session and Welcome Weekend. New transfer students can come to both but are only required to attend Welcome Weekend.

Orientation Session Dates

We’ll offer three Orientation Sessions for students entering in the Fall. Students will attend only one:

  • Friday, June 21 to Saturday, June 22, 2024 (overnight stay required)
  • Friday, July 12 to Saturday, July 13, 2024 (overnight stay required)
  • Friday, July 19 to Saturday, July 20, 2024 (overnight stay required)
Up-to-date event schedules will be given out at each Orientation.  All students attending the June and July Orientation sessions are required to stay overnight. Only students intending to live in the residence hall in the fall will stay overnight during the August Orientation session.  Guest accommodations are not provided. For a list of recommended hotels, please click here!

We’ll provide bed linens and towels. Students should plan on bringing any additional items needed.

Access your Orientation Reservation form from your student status page (log-in required).  You must be an admitted student for the fall semester and have already completed the necessary enrollment steps in order to register for Orientation.

Parents & Guests

New students attending orientation are permitted to bring two guests to Orientation.

Welcome Weekend

Welcome Week begins August 16, 2024 and is open to all new students at the Mount!

Note

-         Please indicate your preferences on your registration form. Soon after, we’ll send a letter confirming your Orientation Session date. As you make your selection and plans, remember:

-         Students must first complete your first semester course schedule. Then we’ll process your Orientation Session Reservation form. Space at each session is limited, so submit this form as early as possible.

-         To avoid conflict with sport summer camp schedules, Fall athletes will need to select the August Orientation session when completing the reservation form.
