A major in biology blends knowledge of basic scientific processes with an appreciation of the phenomenon of life.

Biology students learn to:

  • Demonstrate and apply an appropriate knowledge of the terms, concepts and theories relative to the biological sciences.
  • Undertake advanced work in industry, secondary education, graduate or professional school.
  • Demonstrate the critical thinking, communication and research skills needed to excel.

The Department of Biology offers a major in biology, as well as a minor in biology and forensic science.
