We thrive on reading, sharing good books and supporting each other's writing efforts.

The Department of English and Modern Languages is an energetic group of faculty and students. Students in the Department of English and Modern Languages:

  • Experience literary voices from a variety of cultures and time periods.
  • Acquire tools to become critical thinkers as they engage texts and their world.
  • Gain practice writing critically.
  • Develop their creative voices.

The Department of English and Modern Languages offers a major in English. We also offer a minor in written communication, women’s studies, Spanish, and English.
